I heard about a famous woman from history who was known for having kinky sexual practices (they wrote a book about her) (1800's?) and can't remember who she is. Anyone know?

I got the idea from a show on discovery channel. 5 people enter a room, 4 of them being actors. They are shown a series of lines, and asked which two are the same length. There is an obvious answer, but the 4 actors purposly pick the wrong long, eventually making the 'real' test subject doubt him/herself. What sort of thing will I need to research?

This would be alright if I were in high school or even college but I am 30 and I have no college degree. I have been raising my kids for the past eight years. Now I am on my own and cant figure out what to do as far as a career. I dont really have any interests careerwise except writing and that doesnt pay very well. I get interested in something, try it, get bored and move on to the next thing. HELP!

I am 24 years old guy and I have never had a relationship with a girl. I’m not gay and I have had many crushes on girls. But I have never had a relationship yet. I think the way the world views on sex have really put me off and emotionally scarred me. The thing is I don’t want to stay single for ever. What do I do about this? And no I was not abused as a child.

I'm extremely depressed and have many mood swings, but I'm never happy. My mood swing are always either, I'm pissed at everyone, or I'm bursting out in tears and I'm bawling, but there is never a mood swing where I laugh or I'm happy. Why??

It's getting really bad and I'm even getting crying spells at school, making it even harder to get friends, could I be bipolor??

I also get aggressive and very defiant with authority figures...if this isn't bipolor, what could it be?

I spent a few months in a relationship where my and ex-gf were arguing a lot in terms of beliefs that contradicted each other ...I think my my convictions are polluted right now because, I come to accept some of hers ..But, when I was in the middle of the process in finding a bridge or accepting a great amount of her belief, she left me for someone else , leaving in total confusion ... no, I am no longer convinced of what I was, neither I am not really motivated now to try to join her belief (because I loved her , I was willing to do that, but it was a great mistake from me...) ...I am in the total state of doubt and confusion ...what can I do to retrieve my personality and beliefs back now...?

Tries new things, or sticks with what you know?

Personally, I can't stand having the same thing over and over.
I just NEED to try new things.

There is a guy I know, though, who always drinks the same exact soda... He drinks, like, 3 sodas a day, yet ALWAYS gets the exact same kind. I don't understand it.
Another example: my friends all always get the same SoBe flavor, and I always get a different one, every day.
Aren't they even curious about the others?

I can't even live with myself if I have the same thing twice in a row, much less every single day of my life!

Same goes with this girl I know. Every day, on her break, she buys the exact same candy bar. She eats it every single day of her life, and never gets sick of it. How can that be?

Why don't these people realize that they're missing out on so much, by never trying new things?

So, tell me what type of person you are, and if you can understand the logic behind having the same thing, every day....

One time when I was little (about 8) I was having a nightmare, so I tried to wake up. First I tried to open my eyes but they wouldn't open. So then I tried to open my eyelids with my hands, but I couldn't move. So then I tried to call my mom, so that she could wake me up, but I couldn't talk either. What was going on?

Why is it always a Kenyan that wins marathons?

Why do Jewish people and Asians disproportionately populate our best Universities?

It seems the best in sports are usually black. There are the Jordans and Kobes who have both the superior athletic ability and the brilliant minds and then there are the Larry Birds and Dirk Nowitzski who are marginally athletic but have that same mindset that the best black athletes have. I don't like to treat people differently based upon race, but this is something that I think most of us notice all around us.

Sickle cell mostly affects blacks. Various "old world" diseases still afflict people with Native American blood a great deal. Aren't there really differences between those from different ethnic backgrounds?

I think this country is nearing the point where the bigotry and blind hatred is almost gone, so would it be OK if we started being honest with ourselves about the physical and mental differences between the races?

This may sound ridiculous, but all the negative press is really taking a toll on me. It's not like I can avoid it. If I'm watching a sitcom, a news brief will come on with some negative news story. If I'm driving in the car listening to the radio, a negative news story will come on. If I'm in the office, they're talking about the horrific news. If I load the internet, it's front page news, all the drama around the world. I could stick my head in the sand, which is what most people will tell me to do. I would rather live in society like a person, but I can't get all the negative imagery and stories out of my head. Even my email in-box has drama in it. The family is talking about the horrible news around the world, the newspaper is right in the front of the store when I get my morning coffee. My question is, how can I possibly live my life and not be turned upside down by the constant negative pounding of the news everywhere I turn? How do I do it?
