In my experience quite a few folk are either running from something or running to something very few have their life sorted...as far as facing situations square on....Well there would be many circumstances where this would not be advisable, and some where it would be imperative to do so ..this is where wisdom comes in to play ,,......also some circumstances would require that one would come to it at an angle, not face on .....more tactfully

I think that you shouldn't face things square on (cause doing things bluntly isn't ever really efficient), but i don't think you should avoid them either, cause that's just handing off the problem to someone else, and if EVERYONE avoids unpleasant situations.... well, let's just say we'll have a lot.

I think you should face them. Not head on though. Situations are situational, so i can't give you a way to face all of em.

I think it depends on whether the unpleasant situation directly affects me. If by delaying or avoiding altogether, but knowing you will eventually have to face it, I think you have to weigh your situation carefully and decide the best move to make.

Do it now or do it later. If these are your options, then only you can decide what to do.

If you are talking about relationships, this is a touchy subject and each scenario requires action or inaction on your part. Whether you deal with it face on or delay the inevitable is going to be your choice.

I think it is better to avoid them but be prepared.

Why is it an unpleasant situation? Is there a control drama?

Avoidance might be your way of dealing. If the other person thinks they are right, they may track you down.

Live on your feet or die on your knees. As long as you are being honest and not trying to control... Have at it. It's not always about being right. It's about doing right.

Well, it depends on the situation itself. If you need to clean your room, its obviously better to clean it (and avoid an argument with your mom) rather than not to and tell your mom you don't want to. But if its a situation where you know your uncle is spoiling your children and you don't want him to, of course you should tell him! Don't let him take care of your job as a parent. Maybe this isn't something you can relate to, and of course you shouldn't hurt your uncle's feelings, but for your question - its obviously better to avoid it in some cases and other times face it square on. Hope I helped!

If you can face an unpleasant situation safely... do so. Especially if you are expecting it to be unpleasant, then you can prepare yourself. And it's worth facing head on because you will learn from it and be strengthen by it.

i think it definitly depends on the situation.

unpleasant like u cheated on ur girlfriend: face it square on. u'll eventually have to deal w/ it anyways and the sooner the better b/c it might lead to even more unpleasant situations if u dont face it quickly.

unpleasant like... u know ur friends cheating on his girlfriend. u might just wanna avoid that and let it unfurl on its own. no use u interfering. it might just cuase unnecessary problems.

Face things square on because if you don't now, you'll have to do it eventually. Thus bringing up the old saying, "What goes around comes around."

Sometimes it is good to do the both depending on the situation and what is needed to get through. Only the individual can tell. I suppose using the flight or fight motion
