REVERIE is the term basically used when u dream while u r awake but that doesnt mean only daydreaming .the usual word is day dreaming coz we wont usually sleep in daytime

You don't daydream at night, silly. You daydream while in class or at work or driving or something, and you think of sort of a fantasy. Dreaming however, is done in the sleep.

I would assume that it would be called daydreaming, since it applies for the entire day, not just the time when it is light.

"Daydreaming" is called that, because you basically "dream," but while awake. It's a dream while awake, and I guess that it is presumed that being awake only occurs during the day, hence, "day-dreaming."
