Social Science - 26 December 2006

Why do we organized in squares when the earth is a sphere or a circle? Dose square organization have pycological affect on us? Dose having everything square bring us comfort or anxiety?
If we began to organize everything we do and make in the inspiration and fasion of a sphere of circle, would it make a difference on how we think or feel?

Well sometimes when I am comfortable I sit with my legs spread apart(like guys do but not that far apart)

Is that bad? Does it send a nonverbal message to guys? I'm a virgin and there's no intention but that I'm comfortable.

I took a sociology class last year and became interested in the subjecjt. I've always been a fan of wanting to fight discrimination, and thus starting looking further into the social sciences. I had a period of time when I wanted to be a psychologist, but now have turned to a different route, one which includes ethnic studies, interdisciplinarity, and culturals studies. So, the question is, are there jobs out there for this type of work, or is it like sociology where the main job is writing texts on discoveries? For today, I'm wholly against teaching, although that always seems to be the best fallback. So, please share!

I feel like I'm living in a reality similar to the movie "The Matrix".We have all these hundreds of millions of people walking around without a clue as to what is real.There are those of us who are able to see clearly,to varying degrees,but we are a distinct minority.
Far be it from me to deny them their ability to cope,but,unfortunately,their mechanisms for this are going to end up destroying all life on this planet.Still,with this knowledge,we sit here and try to argue with people who are delusional to a degree that is absolutely incredible.Most of them will never realize the truth of this reality no matter how hard we try to inject some amount of logic or reasoning into their thinking.Some are really just that stupid,but most just cannot seem to cope without their main coping mechanism,religion.
I am trying to find some better way for us to get organized,so that we may begin to implement a few strategies that may end up sparing the human race total destruction.Any ideas?

Here are a couple reasons I get for asking, "Why african Americans dont work hard to better themselves in society" (check my profile)
1. Media Conspiracy- The media DOES NOT commit the crime, they just report it! They dont give the black guy a gun to rob and rape someone, there are solid stats to prove it.
2. Slavery - For crying out loud I haven't known any white man who owned a slave, do you? why do blacks feel the need to be compensated.
3. Poverty, lack of Help- This I find laughable, we hear of stories from immgrants, AFRICANS, MEXICANS, CHINESE who come to this country, from war torn countries, no parents, poor, who cant even speak english. They work real hard to have an education, job, a stable family, and a quality life. Help is everywhere, you just have to have the WILL to look for it.
Im sick and tired off all this complaining from African-Americans, frankly they are giving the AFRICANS a bad wrap in this country. We all need to pitch in to make his "america" work.

Ok call me desperate but I need suggestions lol(even though I don't act on desperation)

Well I am pretty in my own way, I may not be a model but I am pretty but ALOT more beautiful on the inside(as other said and I believe). I am 5 feet 6 inches, 120 ibs, 36C small-medium frame. I'm skinny with a little bit of belly. I don't drive nor have a place of my own but I do go to college. I used to have single guy friends but gave up on them because they were friends for the wrong reasons. So all my guy friends are older and married and I know and believe that nothing will happen as much as I believe the sky is blue. I am sweet, kind, love to help others, quiet in groups, ethical, respectful, smart in my own way, confident, wear nice clothes that flatter me but I don't show my cleavage or stomach.

Anyway any suggestions? On getting guy friends? I got a few aquaintances that aren't yet friends that are guys. How would I know they're my friends. I know I'm 'too young' lol b

well, i have tried for a week now, and i know it's not nearly enough time, but i really want to LD (mainly because i get disturbing dreams a lot). i have almost succeeded in doing this, when doing a technique (i forget which one, they all end in an ILD, lol). the technique was of staying mentally awake while your body falls asleep, and i almost did it when i saw a blinding light and a huge pain fell over me. it felt a bit like when your foot or a part of your body 'goes to sleep', and it feels like millions of tiny knives are stabbing you. then i woke up.
was that the beginning of a lucid dream? and if so, how could i perfect it?

So i graduated college last spring.. i have a job in what i majored in, and that's not the problem, but i feel lost now that i'm not in school... i had all my friends there, i was doing something positive with my life and i was never bored.. i just recently broke up with my g/f... and the combo of both just leaves me feeling like crap.. i don't enjoy anything anymore and i'm constantly anxious... ever since i left school i just don't know what to do with myself.. does anyone feel similiar or have any advice?

I do not - the "free-trade" policies are really "unfair-trade" policies that harm the middle class' standard of living by sending jobs over seas. The only people who benefit are stock holders and greedy corporate execs. When will America realize that their way of life is being stolen from them in the name of "global economy" and "free trade"? If a person is precarious, do they have trouble with being loyal or commiting to something (such as marriage)?..My girlfriend is very precarious, and I've heard that if someone is like that, they usually follow along in what the other is doing, and go along with it. I'm not really sure on the meaning of it, and I'm not sure if something like that would also have an impact on a relationship with being loyal or etc. Please help?
