There are always winners of war...ie those who are the war industry...

So who benefits from the breakdown of the family, and men hating women, and women hating men....? The polarization of the sexes ?

It's a war?

I think men and women are basically different in a myriad important and meaningfull ways. That may cause some tension but I don't find myself at war with women much. Do you?

The traditional family unit is so splendid because it benefits EVERYBODY. Men are truly civilized by marriage and commitment (this coming from a man). Women benefit from the security they get from the husband's vows and commitment. And kids benefit, as we all should know, from a stable two-parent family.

It's not war, pal, it's life. And the beauty--the almost magically romantic beauty--or marriage is that a man and a women, two terribly different and unique people, can come together in a sacred bond that with promises of eternal fidelity.

That sounds a lot better than war, if you ask me (which you kind of did).

The traditional family unit is almost nonexistent, in case you have not noticed. If you are trying to say that it is caused by any one group then you are mistaken. The current economic circumstances in North America with the failure of capitalism and the dire consequences of a right wing conservative government has eroded the safety net for social services and has forced for the most part both parents or in the case of single unit families the head of the household, to work long hours. This in a sense has lead to a mother staying home and caring for children and a father working a nine to five job to no longer be plausible. Women should be also given the choice of whether they want to work or raise children and should be rewarded monetarily by the government for choosing to stay home, by the same token men should also be given this choice.
The sexes have always been clearly polarized by social norms and in this present time the sexes are closer to understanding each other then any other time. So you question makes little sense because nobody really benefits however the situation of the traditional family can be reworked so that the present social circumstances can be tailored to fit the needs of many without causing oppression or poverty.

In order to answer that we have to accept your statement as fact. That there is some system in place bent on the destruction of the traditional family unit. Are you saying that this is where society is headed, and then asserting that something besides human nature is driving it?
Someone above me said something about homosexuals, is this a veiled attempt to lead people towards a negative view of homosexuals? By insinuting in some backwards way that they are behind the destruction and polarization you write about?

What's your agenda?

The traditional family unit is the source of polarization of the sexes. If a woman is single or gay, she'sless likely to be staying home keeping house for a guy who is a 'breadwinner.

Who makes the most money in the process? I would say that the Divorce Industry and the Abuse Industry both profit very handsomely!

I would suggest reading the works of this man here:

And from the archives of this forum:

Both of these men have spent decades looking into the problems you are talking about... while I can't say they are the best on presentation, they do have an edge on information.

If, as Lenin said, "Destroy the family and society collapses", then there can be only one beneficiary.

Big Government. A collapsing society allows autocratic governments to seize power and become the only source of "love" for the population. We see this again and again throughout history. The state effectively replaces the family.

Um... Who said that the traditional family is necessarily 'good'? I'd prefer work and be able to use contraception and CHOOSE to stay with my partner rather than rely on him...

And men and women do not hate each other. You must live in a pretty wierd place.

Me! I get to work and be single instead of having kids, who are great and all because I'm a teacher, but I don't want a traditional family so I'm happy to be me.

the "WAR OF THE SEXES" has been going on since the dawn of time. the traditional family unit varies from culture to culture and century to century.
Who benefits? no one and everyone
My cultural influences prefer miniskirts not body hiding robes.
My cultural influences prefer serial monogomy not polygomy.
My cultural influences prefer acceptance not bigotry.
Mankinds civilizations cycle =rise, stagnation, fall

Well, it would be the secular progressives (SP's) that believe that America needs to be changed. These SP's think that the gov't should provide happiness for each American. These same SP's also push for a socialistic society.

May I recommend reading "Culture Warrior". It explains how these people are trying to destroy the America we live in today, and how they want to destroy democracy.
