Yes both my husband & son talk in their sleep and I like to answer them back. It's hilarious!

Do not do this! Whatever a person is talking about is usually caused by a worry, something of the day that did not make sense and even from a tv programme.
You will not know if you are being told anything that actually relates to the person.
You will be interfering in the perons everyday thoughts if you answer or speak during dream talk state.

My daughter used to call out and when I would answer she would start talking all about some strange thing that obviously made sense to her in her sleep, but that made no sense to me. I would answer and suggest she just go to sleep and she would mumble something then, 2 minutes later, be sleeping soundly. She also used to suddenly call or yell and then start speaking to me in what sounded like Chinese... lol The next day she would never remember these conversations. I've often wondered why this is common in some people. If I speak outloud while dreaming it wakes me right up!

While in college, I had a phone conversation while lying on my back on a bed. I must have fallen asleep sometime during the call because I had a dream, but I was still able to carry on my part of the phone conversation. Freaked my friend out when I groggily tried to tell her the dream and what had happened!

It's a bad way of getting answers out of people because they are in an abstract state of thought, or they could be talking to angels, or someone who has recently passed. Depends on the person, and their physical condition as well.

Yes. It's amazig how much sense a sleeping person can make, but did it feel to you as if you were talking to a completely different person?

My brother used to talk in his sleep. We could get him to tell us all kinds of things. Most people who talk in their sleep just mumble and you don't get any real info from them, though.

My husband once told me in his sleep "The watch needs to be put in the hole or the blue ones will see it. The coffee is good..." he rolled over and started snoring.
