Here are a couple reasons I get for asking, "Why african Americans dont work hard to better themselves in society" (check my profile)
1. Media Conspiracy- The media DOES NOT commit the crime, they just report it! They dont give the black guy a gun to rob and rape someone, there are solid stats to prove it.
2. Slavery - For crying out loud I haven't known any white man who owned a slave, do you? why do blacks feel the need to be compensated.
3. Poverty, lack of Help- This I find laughable, we hear of stories from immgrants, AFRICANS, MEXICANS, CHINESE who come to this country, from war torn countries, no parents, poor, who cant even speak english. They work real hard to have an education, job, a stable family, and a quality life. Help is everywhere, you just have to have the WILL to look for it.
Im sick and tired off all this complaining from African-Americans, frankly they are giving the AFRICANS a bad wrap in this country. We all need to pitch in to make his "america" work.

Well Kyle, let me tell you im an african american myself and im in an advanced middle school program that is the best in my state, and im about to take the SAT's in the eigth grade. And I admit that some of us often due blame whites for our problems.
LETS GET TO THE NITTY GRITTY
One: Often the media would blame and often portray us in the bad way because some of us commit the crimes, and can get away with shooting at an innocent black man and killing him because you can assume and believe that the black man had a GUN!
Two: And when none of your known ancestors were slaves and to know what they went through then for them later to become independent and for many years to be treated so harshly you have no idea.
Three: I admit we also complain when not nesscesary.... but we also dont get equal oppurtunities if a black has a PH.D and a white applys for the same job with a more minor degree they would side more and look at white applicants.
Example: for me to work hard in my young school career and get on a strictly advanced program bus and have a white person to come up to me and ask am i on the wrong bus! then say oops i just never seen you before.

If you did some serious reading you would find that the minorities of this country are still oppressed to this day. 1. Media does report the crime, the black created crime. 2 No, I would hope you don't know any slave owners, if you did you would be living in the 1960 version of your home town. 3. You are not qualified for federal or state help unless you are a US citizen, and if you were not born in this country it will take you quite a while to become a citizen, and if you snuck into the country it will never happen.
You need to do some serious reading before you ask such an offensive question.

Of course we all need to pitch in to make America work, but out of all the people that are here in America, blacks are the only ones who did not come looking for opportunities---they were forced over here. It wasn't too long ago that these people even gained equal rights. Cut them some slack and give them some time. And just so you know, not all African Americans blame other people for their problems.

They do in fact work very hard. Men commit more crime in general because of testosterone and the main factor is an unstable mind. testosterone is the fuel for violence or success know matter what you do There are many successful African Americans
and there not all rappers athletes or drug dealers. although black people naturally have a higher testosterone level than whites and Asians its not much this can fuel violence depending on your environment you are a product of your environment you can use it to you advantage or disadvantage. I do agree some people use certain circumstances as an excuse to not work hard and succeed but the cold hard truth is this lower income people do not have the advantages the rich have college money exposure to the good things in life that are tools to succeed. There are white drug dealer rapist and murders and there are plenty of black guys and gals who go to traditional Junior college and succeed. I think in 50 years if the economy stables itself by eliminate lower class poverty the ghetto environment will diminish and so will violent crime. Crime exist in the upper class but not to an extent or classification as lower class crimes in white collar crime you get domestic violence embezzlement or fraud testosterone can fuel these crimes also but its better than violent crimes associated with the lower class.

I think Bill Cosby hit this nail on the head and also has the right to. Your diatribe is a bit much. If true, you do not have to beat people over the head with this. I beat creationist over the head all the time, in the biology section. I am an evolutionary biologist, though. My point; are you black?

Just because you yourself never owned a slave or know of anyone that did, doesnt mean you shouldnt act like it never existed. Just because slavery was abolished doesnt mean the thoughts and the hurt and pain that they went through will disappear. It's a part of our country's past and its a part of most african americans past. Its not a great piece, but its there and because of it our nation has changed in enormous ways. But its because of ppl like you no matter your race asking stupid questions like that keeps the thought heated and makes people hated. I am by no means asking for a peaceful country, cuz that would just be boring as hell, but have a little bit of sympathy for someones past. You have a past and unfortunately, whatever it was helped to make you the ignorant, uneducated person you are. By the way, why are you blaming african americans for not bettering themselves? As a criminal justice major, I know there are alot of issues going against that group as well as others in our society, be sensitive to that. And one other thing... next time, remind yourself that its better to be thought a fool then open your pie hole and remove all doubt.

u need to live in a black man's body before u talk. u don't know what it is that we r complaining about. u have never been a black man driving a bmw and a cop pulls u over for a broken light than seaches your car for contraband. (happened to my husband)
u have never been walking in a mall with a group of 3 minorites and security follows u around. (happened to me).
so do not preach that racism is nonexistant and that because we don't know anyone who owned slaves that we should forget about it.
the effects of slavery is still around and just because u can't see it does not mean that the rest of us african americans are delusional and paranoid.

1. I don't agree with that generalization. Most African-Americans don't blame other people for their problems.
2. I understand and agree with you on all points.
3. I hate when I'm around people who like to blame everything on the white man.

Your thinking is confused. Besides, I know a large amount of "white trash" who "blame" others for their problems. Lack of personal responsibility is not limited to blacks, by any means.
