Why is this religious belief so firmly ingrained in various components of our society? In twelve-step meetings, AA meetings, AA consoles the victim of alcoholism with a spiritual pat on the back and instructions to turn to God for relief from the disease. Likewise common wisdom assigns many philosophical and moral questions that occur to humans godly justice as an answer. Yet it is clear to many thinking men and women that the idea of God no longer serves a useful purpose. What is the ordinary fellow in the twenty-first century to say in response?

After taking the test in the library(because he's been uh sexually eyeing me all week last week and I asked the dean if I can defend myself against a teacher physically if one ever comes on to me without being suspended. They said yes so I felt more comfortable).

Anyway after the test was done I had a chat with my instructor about how I did the probs on the test and we talked generally and casually about classes and all about how he thinks I'm a space cadet having those blonde moments lol. Yeah he called me a space cadet! So we talked some more and finally I said well have a good Christmas and he said you too!
As soon as I stepped out of his office he LAUGHED at me! I turned around and there he was beaming at me. I walked in and asked why he was laughing. He just shook his head with a smile. I smiled and said yeah I can be a space cadet sometimes haha! He said yeah and kept smiling at me and that was it.

What does this mean? Why did he laugh?

My grief counselor says she talks to "older women" that say when they lost their newborns the babies were rushed out of there and now,so many years later they still mourn the deaths but never had support. It was always "get over it". Having lost an infant myself I would love to go and talk to some other women who couldnt create the memories I have. Who didnt have the same services available. Id love to help create memorieds now. I wonder, are "outsiders" welcome in nursing homes? I felt wierd calling myself in case it seems to crazy but I just want to give them some support and allow them to finally share their baby's lives.

Neogenics is for increasing the number of good minds and reducing crimes, corruption, cruelty etc., for social transformation. Hitherto attempts to transform the society through admonitions and punishments have not yielded any perceptible and lasting results. Genetic transformation of the society will assure lasting peace and harmony.
Racial mingling through neogenics will put an end to violence on racial grounds.
By reducing the incidence of genetically transferable diseases (most of the diseases have a genetic base), drastic improvement in health and reduction in medical expenditure is possible.
Tribal welfare and upliftment. Attempts for the upliftment of the tribal people failed in many countries and a genetic course is the best method towards this goal.
Raising the IQ level of the average population according to the needs of a civilized and technologically advanced society. The benefits of ascending IQ in a population are rather beyond our imagination.

first off i am a complete skeptic, but i had an experience that i cannot shake off as being coincidence, I was dozing off for a nap some yrs back, and heard my girlfriend at the time have a conversation w/a guy. i thought they were in the living room cuz it was so clear.I remember he was flirting w/her. I later repeated the conversation i heard to her.She was dumbfounded and asked if the guy had told me what they were talking about.I didn't know him, or where they were at, but i heard the conversation. This sounds crazy, I know, but how could i have knew word for word what they were saying, I am more of a scientific thinker than a believer, so this drives me freakin nuts!!!

Thankyou!

I have a neighbour that has been harrassing me since I moved in, constantly banging on my walls, everytime I go out she quickly comes out, it feels like she's got her claws into me & if she feels I get away from her, she does sth to get my attention. She's really crazy & she is blaming me (for what God knows!!!!!) I know people who abuse others always blame the other person but this is really crazy!
it's all like a story from a horror movie

Ten points to the first person who actually reads the details. (Expecting a half million "don't do drugs" responses).

I suffer from a photographic memory. I say suffer because remembering almost everything is not only annoying... it is distracting. I remember stuff I don't even WANT to remember, ontop of it just randomly emerging from my subconscience into thought whilst I progress throughout the day.

Besides my photographic memory... I also suffer from memoric webbing, where one thought can trigger another, resulting in massive chunks of "lost time" emerging from a single stimlus. And if there are multiple stimuli... just call it hell on earth.

And like my advanced vocabulary, much of the information I know or memories I have had remains dormant, and is much harder to induce a stimulus to retrieve them when I wish to. Heck, my 'vocabulary' consists of words I don't even know the meaning to yet I use them in the right context (some times).

So... my strength, is my problem.

Hi I'm thinking about how weapons (mainly guns but also swords) are an extension of man and looking at McLuhan's laws I've kinda figured the first two (what is extended? what is made obsolete?) Does anyone have any idea about how using a gun invokes a a return to older ‘structures…environments…forms of action, human organization, and thought’ ? (that's the law of Retrieval) and how its' characteristics are reversed when it is pushed to the limits of its potential (that's the law of Reversal)? please help I'm hungry and tired and I have to have this assignment in later today... :-)
