Are you always critical of things and people?? that could be the reason. Do you always at first see the worst in situations/people?

You could be a little too self assured. It could be that you have high self esteem and confidence, because you set higher goals for yourself, and it could also be that you are a snob.

Your self-confidence ruptures their self-esteem. I get the same thing. I don't think I'm better than anyone, and you probably don't either. THEY think that you are better than them. I'm not dumbing myself down for anyone, and you shouldn't either.
