I have to do a project on substance abuse, and the region(s) where the drug is used the most is one of the criteria. However, I haven't been able to find any information on this on the internet, or in encyclopedias.

Do you think it's pathological or wrong to get a crush on a video game character? I mean they're obviously not real. But I just am in total awe of Baralai from Final Fantasy X-2 and Basch from Final Fantasy XII. (the newest one out now). Of course they remind me of somebody I know in real life, so they're not completely illusionary I guess.

My question is a serious one, as I have an interest in the origin of tribes, races and the differences between the races.

I have wondered for a long time as to why caucasians have so many different varieties of look and shapes etc.

Is it due to the more insular nature of black and Asian culture?

I know Asian and Black people intermix with other races today, but in times gone by, there wasnt as much mixing?

Tribes in Europe I assume had a lot of raping and pillaging and mixing, therefore creating all the variety?

I am not interested in any wise-cracks, only serious answers

All that I can remember about the dream is that my little nephew (almost 2 years old) is with me at my house. We're outside near the pool and the weather isn't summer, but more autumn. The weather isn't cool either but very hot, but all the plants are brown, yellow, and red. We aren't swimming though. The water isn't completely clear, but more murky. Anyways, there are sharks and dolphins in the pool. My little nephew falls in the pool, and of course I freak out and jump in to get him out. The sharks and dolphins are everywhere. I can feel them brushing against me as I try to get to my nephew, but I can't get a grip on him. Everytime I almost get him, a dolphin bumps into me, making me lose my grip. Also, the sharks come at me with their mouths open. I keep pushing the sharks away with my hands. I'm trying like mad to get my baby nephew out, but I can't, and I finally wake up. I have had this dream many times. Is it significant?

The short end of the stick? Earlier on here, a girl/woman posted the following "I always like feeling smarter than a man."

It sounds pretty innocuous (for the guys, it means tame or harmless. I'll get back to this later), right? Now what if a man had posted:

"I always like feeling smarter than a woman." Sounds a lot worse, wouldn't you agree? Why is that? You can bet your bippy that if each of those two statements were posted anywhere, there's an excellent chance that the one denigrating women would get a lot more responses and more of them vicious. Why is that?

The pendulum has swung too far.

As for my little aside to the guys, such things are often laughed off. Had I addressed it to the ladies, instead, I might have been eviscerated (gals, that means taking the guts out, gutted). LOL

What was my question again?

I volunteer in a professional association. A colleague often says and does things that I feel are callous. She says that she cannot make someone feel hurt. The other person makes the choice of feeling hurt. This seems mixed up to me. Can anyone shed light on this for me?

I'm driving a group of 9 people in a van, across a lonely desert highway in Arizona, at 80 mph (cruise control). We all want to get home to L.A. quick because we have to work in the morning. THe ride is smooth for the most part, but occasional ripples in the road send the van bouncing and make the passengers (especially the ladies) nervous. They (not so nicely) request that I slow down. Now, I am faced with a choice:

1. Be a strong individual, and keep going 80 (which is a safe, reasonable 5 mph over the speed limit) and get us home sooner...taking the belief that they're all just being wussy and will calm down after a while.

2. Slow down to 70 mph (cruise control) and watch RV's pass us by and get home later. I can take the embarrasment of being passed by large trucks, but 'caving in to other people's demands', when I know they are not grounded in reality (just in unreasonable fear) doesn't sit well with me.

I chose to slow down to 70, but feel like I did the wrong thing

This is a debate topic for tomorrow, so I'd appreciate quick replies! So here are the details:
I need a couple REALLY clever questions to ask the other team which represents "Motivation matters more than Intelligence" to prove that no matter how hard you try, intelligence is important (considering the mentally challenged of course)

(pretty challenging..huh?)
