Couple of times I spent my winter holiday in Serbia with a part of my family and friends. They celebrate the orthodox Christmas on January 7 and I noticed they have many beautiful and interesting traditions usually kept and respected by women. However, last time I was there I felt it too political, to nationalistic and too macho. Every dinner my husband and me were invited to, turned to an unpleasant political discussion ran by men. Also, I heard some guys celebrated it on their own way – shooting from their guns on the very Christmas Eve. No magic, no sparkling, just one girl shot in front of the church. The only things that I appreciated were the great efforts of Serbian women preparing the meals, cleaning the house and opening them for the guests. And after all they do, the man should be the first who enter ones house, otherwise, the bad luck will follow this family. At the end, I saw those women resigned, exhausted and unconcerned by

For some money is power. For others money is everything. Some people say money makes the world go round. I'm sure you've all heard that money is the root of all evil. They also say that money can't buy you happiness. The one thing that is true about money, when you die you can't take it with you!For me money is a means, not an end. It is a way to get the things I want and need, but it doesn't make me happy.

Is it just their job, or do you think it takes that type of personality to do a job like that? I have been put down and literally told that I'm stupid when talking to bill collectors. I don't like the fact that I've even been put in that position, but when all the bills can't get paid you do what you have to do. Point in case: ....I had a bill collector call me regarding a hospital bill for my young son that I could not pay. I had taken him to the hospital as his regular doctor was closed.( He had a bad virus and had become extremely dehydrated very quickly. We spent the better part of the night in ER, with him hooked up to IV's and everything. ) I tried to tell her very politely that we had very little money and that I could pay a very small amount each month, but not what she was saying would suffice. She had the nerve to tell me that if I couldn't pay the bill then I shouldn't have taken my son to the hospital! Well, needless to say, i crawled up one side and down the other of that

I think a friend of mine is having a mid life crisis. She was quite conservative before, but now in her 40's she has gotten a [teen] tattoo & nose piercing. before this you wouldnt even think seh would be the type of person to get anything like this. Could this be a mid life crisis? All the people she works with ar eyounger than her, they could be influencing her into these things. Her partner is 5+ years younger, could it be reaching out to be younger?

Only a sociologist can answer this question. Wht r examples of hidden institution other than prostitution. plz dont tell me tht prostitution is not hidden institution it is an accepted institution, i know it is acepted in west but it is still considered as hidden institution in east. only relevant answers are required If u want to add detail, ur most welcome. and plz remember one more thing wht ever institution u think is hidden u hv to prove it through logical reasoning tht how it is considered as hidden institution by sociologist. thanx

how to hold on for 1 1/2 months in this condition? I really can't take no more. i've been in this condition for 3 1/2 months and am tired. really. no changes, no miracles from God, and so what do you think , is waiting for 1 1/2 months is a long time? Not to generalize,but why is it that alot of the women i've come across who have had deep rooted psychological problems have sometimes been the most intelligent ones i've met?Is there any correlation,or is it just coincidence?I also find that the majority of these types of women are perfectionists.

Social cultures are assigned to people for the clothes they wear, or the music that they prefer, and not be the people they are. We are supposed to be advancing as a society, instead we are judging eachother over material things.
