Just google "marxism" and take your choice, starting with the wikepedia. There is a web site for Marxism. There are several political science web sites. You have to understand the historical context of when Karl Marx was alive. He was in England. England was burning up the last of their wealth from the good old empire days, but they produced the richest middle-class society the world has ever known. This is the heyday of Charles Darwin. Famous theologians began to question blind faith.
Marx was a bum that never paid rent. His daughter was poisoned by her live-in boyfriend.
"Das Kapital", vol. 1 and vol. 2 used to be required reading at West Point. It's a dreary read.

Capital by Karl Marx, edited by Trotsky is a good resource to know how proletarian economics and politics should be worked out. Study the Marxian value theories, alienations theory etc;. Study any book on 'German ideology' as supporting material. Then probably you will be on way to be a professional Marxist.

check out Ritzer and/or Goodman.
They've done some books together that give good comprehensive overviews of various sociologists and sociological theories.
