I think a friend of mine is having a mid life crisis. She was quite conservative before, but now in her 40's she has gotten a [teen] tattoo & nose piercing. before this you wouldnt even think seh would be the type of person to get anything like this. Could this be a mid life crisis? All the people she works with ar eyounger than her, they could be influencing her into these things. Her partner is 5+ years younger, could it be reaching out to be younger?

Its probably not a mid-life crisis. Its probably more that she now has the confidence to do what the "real her" wants to do. You may have just thought she was more conservative before because she didn't have a tattoo and a nose ring. Now you know.

Is she having fun? Is it hurting you? She just sounds like she is living life to the fullest. So what about the tattoo and the nose ring. I actually agree with her decisions, being 40 myself. I have always wanted a tattoo and a nose ring. Maybe she just finally got the guts to do so. Seriously-who wants to be old? Not me. If you surround yourself with youth, you will be younger. I will not go quietly........Good luck!

I wouldn't worry unless she starts huffing glue and hanging around at roller rinks.

I do think folks that say life begins at 40 must have really blown their 20's and 30's.

And nothing can get any fuller than full.

she is just enjoying life to the fullest. sometimes we just don't start living until 40. it seems all the fears you have are not anything at all. My daughter and I are getting our belly pierced in the summer. (she is 18) .
