Primay = working with / extracting raw materials (agriculture, oil drilling, mining etc)
Secondary = Manufacture, shaping raw materials into something consumable (food processing, metal working, construction).
Tertiary = Service industry (hospitality, retail, finance etc).
Tertiary industries are therefore a level of abstraction away from producing anything that's actually physically useful. They sell intangible goods, in what essentially amounts to a virtual economy. Tertiary also earns significantly more money.

Secondary = Manufactures complex products often by assembling various parts & technologies eg : Automobiles , Aeroplanes, Guns & Artillery.
Tertiary Industries = The ones who manufacture the hype needed to sell all of the above eg: Media , Nation states , Stock-markets , Political parties & Disasterists / Terrorists

tertiary get the materials out of the ground e.g oil
secondary make the material into a product e.g they make plastic out of the oil
and primary sell the product that has been made e.g they will sell the plastic
