Anthropology can assist in law enforcement by understanding different way different cultures communicate and express themselves. Law enforcement uses anthropology in understanding the culture of gangs, and the clash of different cultures and as a means of violence. By understanding the cultural difference law enforcement can approach suspects in different ways.

It is also important for studying Cultural Diversity -- as a law enforcement officer a person associates with all sorts of people from many different cultural and behavioral backgrounds. The people you end up working with (your colleagues), the people you work for (the tax-payers and society members), and the law-breakers. To be an effective law enforcement officer it is important to know who the people are and where they come from, including why they behave particular ways. In some cultures, a man is responsible for all the behaviors of the members of his family, and if one of them breaks the law, he goes to prison. This may lead him to physically abuse his wife and/or children. When that man and his family move into another culture where that is not acceptable practice, it looks like abuse (because it is), but it may be important to recognize that he was doing what he had been taught his whole life in his original culture, and what he thought was appropriate. In such cases, it might be helpful to understand people's cultural backgrounds. Anthropology is a great place to begin understanding those.

The main point here is that anthro. relates to the peoples culture. Where you will have to understand that for example the Arab people treat their woman as objects or that certain groups may not use medicine because of their religion. Anthro. will be interesting for you, drink it up it will give you a greater worldview

It helps if you center in on it as forensic anthro. That can be helpful in cases of dicovered remains, where you need someone with anthro. experience to help identify the person and how they died.
