A student in my class came from a very abusive environment. He'd just transferred in a month previously, and I was very worried about him. He didn't seem to be connecting with anyone.
One particularly miserable day, my kids were riled up and being very cruel to each other. I stopped the class and told them (this is a grade 3 class) that I didn't understand why they were being so miserable to each other... I could easily think of a kind, meaningful thing to say about each one of them.
They said fine: go ahead.
So I did, then said... okay, now it's your turn... you must say what you love about someone else... and no cheap compliments like "I like your shirt".
They did well. But the little boy that I was telling you about? He chose to comment on me. He said he wanted to save his comment for just my ears.
On the way to Phys Ed, he hugged me and said, "Oh, Miss Andrea... you are soft and warm and comfortable."
He changed my life... he made me realize that sometimes it is not the documentation and testing and parent-teacher meetings that make a difference. Sometimes being soft and warm and comfortable is enough.

Over the years, a number of people have commented on my smile. It always makes me happy, because when they say it they are being genuine, and it is always at a time when I am at my best, glowing with happiness and optimism and radiating sunshine from my smile. I like that people notice and that they are concious enough to know that it will make me even happier by them noticing and it also makes me happy to know that when I am feeling like that, I am able to pass it on and connect to other people and maybe make someone else just as happy even if all I gave was a smile.

it truly is the cost you pay for sex -- you would possibly want to come throughout the time of with a touch romance to make it seem a lot less meaningless and trite. similar is going for men and women, BTW, so do not assume purely men run into this conflict of interest. If all you pick is silent businesslike sex, attempt letting her comprehend in develop. perchance she'll be keen to accomodate.

The first day I met the guy I'm dating now, he told me I have kind eyes. That was so nice!
Just the other day, my mom told me what a wonderful listener I am. That made me feel really good.

A friend of mine once told me I was a metaphore for God. He was on shrooms at the time, so obviously his judgement was completely unimpaired ;-)
