Infertile couples do not create any new life -- does that mean the death of the human race if we allow those couples to marry?
Of course not. Humans are reproducing TOO FAST now, and there are too darn many of us for this planet. There has *always* been around 10% of the human race that was homosexual -- ever since there have been humans. We don't seem to have had a problem getting to 6.5 billion despite that...

If it 'spreads' (which of course is dependant on How Far it 'spreads', then of course ~ given the worst case scenario.
Over an extended period though, one of the effects of 'no progeny' is to create some form of limitation(s on the gene pool available to those who want to / can procreate.
What a silly question ~ and I mean, 'the way it is couched here.'
It's the same as saying, 'If we spay all the female cats, would it mean that the cat population would die out ~ if we continued?'
Sash.

Only if you're a hardcore conservative and believe that homosexuality is a disease people can contract.
No, there will likely always be more heterosexuals than homosexuals; don't be foolish. Even if there are more homosexuals than heterosexuals it wouldn't mean the death of the human race. Hell man, if we were all homosexual we'd still have artificial semination.

Same-sex affectional preference is not contagious.
It is not genetic. Most gay/lesbian/bi/transgendered people had heterosexual parents.
The ratio of same-sex-oriented people, worldwide, throughout history, appears to be between 10-15% of the population as a whole.
Also, many gay/lesbian/bi/transgendered people marry (or not), become parents, before they realise they do not have to submit to the social pressure to be like the other 85%+, of the population. I know a LOT of gay/lesbian/bi/transgendered parents, with well-adjusted, happy children.
Lesbian and gay couples also frequently choose to raise families; lesbian women can have babies, by artificial insemination. Gay men can have babies, by surrogate mothers. And they do.
The only thing different about the children of same-sex parents, from other kids, is that they are less inclined to be bigots, than children from heterosexual unions.
So, NO.
A) Same-sex relationships are NOT spreading.
B) Same-sex relationships can and do provide loving, nurturing parents for children, who have about the same 85% probability of growing up heterosexual as children of single-parent families, adoptive families, social-services case kids, and married heterosexual families.

I think that is safe to assume that there have been gay people around since the beginning of humanity and so far the species has had no problems reproducing.

No, because straight people reproduce in droves. They're like insects really, it's kind of laughable. We all make fun of them behind their backs.... I'm so gay I just don't understand the urge to do that at all. It's weird. But of course I treat everybody with respect.
People have kids for horrible reasons. Striaght people don't know how to enjoy life usually and simply want to live the boring American dream and have kids and die another mediocre, boring person that didn't effect anybody around him. Not all straight people are like this, but a lot are.
Homosexuality helps control the population. WE DON'T NEED ANOTHER JENNY BORN THAT NEEDS ANOTHER DAMN TOY AT WAL-MART!
Gays are so great.

you make it sound like a disease!!
Homosexual and Lesbian relationships are nothing new!
We are in more danger from over-population and science than we are from them!
Besides we will probably kill the planet before it could happen.
