I'm listening to 'Caterpillar' now, I have all of their albums and admittadly some of the songs sound depressing but the majority of them are upbeat.
I really don't understand why people associate The Cure with depression?
For the fact their music helped me get through depression!!

I'm not a kid anymore and this problem is starting to matter. I feel like almost all my past relationships have either started out as friendships (and then "progressed"), or have been with people that I just wasn't all that attracted to. If I get so shy/nervous that I go blank and lose my sense of self whenever I talk to someone I'm strongly attracted to, how will I every be able to start a real relationship with someone I REALLY like?

This guy I've just started talking to (and REALLY like) has obviously picked this other girl over me. She's gorgeous, brilliant, original, confident. Since I realized I no longer have a shot with him, I feel like I'm constantly comparing myself to this amazing girl and coming up short. How do I deal with these destructive feelings of inadequacy in relation to her, and stop trying to "prove my worth" to him (and to myself)?

When I'm asking simple question people get really annoyed with me. It really get's me down. I simply need to know something and they get really, really, angry. It happens all the time.
I ask a friend or a stranger or someone who I just about know, or know a little bit and know really really well like a best friend a question. I explain exactly what I need to know but they keep saying 'yeh ... yeh... erm... yeh... uh... well... erm ... yeh' and they don't let me finish what I'm trying to say. They keep breaking into my explanation and I have to start again.
So basically I have to ask this question and they get really annoyed. Especially people i DON'T EVEN know. Like today I asked this woman directions to the train station because I hardly ever take a train and I couldn't rememer where. So i borrowed some paper and she waited and i was drawing a map of where I know that is near the train station but not the train station itself and then she said the same thing as everyone else SHUT UP

This is the last of the 'cult series' as I suppose it has become. And it isn't a question per se, more of a series of statements.

Well, I wasn't completely honest with those that answered (and if you have no idea what I am refering to, just go view my past questions). You see, my question had nothing to do with religion.

I am writing a thesis, actually, and needed Guinea pigs. And where better to find them then on here?

It WAS an experiment, no lie there. And the whole religion-as-a-cult thing was brought up by my grandmother a few years ago. I DID try out many religions but now believe that there IS a god, but none that are worshipped by orginised religion. That was all true.

It was what my experiment was about that was a lie. I am writing a thesis on how people today are unwilling to accept what questions life as they know it. I could have easily asked a question regarding the existance of aliens, questioning the government. However, I knew religion would upset many more

Most people are very conscious of what is right or wrong and I don't mean that in the religious or ethical perspective, but basic things such as smoking, exercising, etc. We all often end up not doing the right thing or procrastinate! How can we develop good discipline and is this studied under any specific scientific discipline (I suspect psychology)?

Several times a day I find myself discussing different things, with myself. I'll be talking out loud & be having a real conversation (arguing with myself sometimes). When I realize I'm doing it I stop, but it happens all the time. Is this regular? (I even found myself having a discussion with myself about asking about this on here).

I always look forward to the cooler days of fall after enduring summer in a hot climate. I look forward to being able to wear sweaters and tights and not sweating the minute I go outside. However I find it hard to get motivated no matter what plans I make. I plan to get up early in the morning and then find it difficult to get up before 9. I just want to lay in bed more. I don't have to be at work till the afternoon so I don't have to get up. I find myself putting stuff off that I planned to do because I got up too late. Part of it has to do with the shorter days as I live in a bad neighborhood and am trapped inside at dark, which in the winter means 5 pm. I know this has something to do with it and I cant change that but I wish there was something I could do to get up earlier and get more done. I am ok once I get up but I find myself resetting my alarm when it goes off any time I set it to get up early. I suffer from year round depression but it is worse in the fall.
