i choose what is best for the moment and depending on what i want to acheive at the moment. going up will take me higher going down will take me somewhere i might have been going under will make my journey shorter and going around will clear me from danger that might lurk

Some think that the leaning ladder against a wall forms a triangle that can represent the Trinity (Father, Son and Holy Ghost.) By walking under the ladder you are violating and desecrating God.
Despite this, and due to the fact that I'm an atheist, I'm going to have to tempt fate and walk under the ladder.
p.s. supposedley if you spit on your shoe and don't look at it again until it dries the bad luck is reversed.

I'd be up it like a shot an knuck all the lead off the roof, take it down to the scrap yard and get a few quid for it, then head to the bookies and do a few bets and watch the gee gees racing in my local, while supping a few pints, like
