Women can have babies without actually participating in sexual intercourse with a man, but we still need male sperm to fertalize our eggs. For example, women can be artificially insemanated.

Your question makes it look as if you believe that male-free conception was an ancient practice? Not in human history. At least not outside of mythology. Though there are species who have been able to accomplish female only reproduction, humans have only recently become one of them.
And, technically, if you exclude all the scientific discoveries that males were responsible for, the human cloning process wouldn't be possible either.
So, while we can now produce genetic duplications of exisiting humans, we relied on men in order to get to this point and, in order to create any "genetically new" babies, we still need male sperm.

Yes, through invitro fertilization. :-)
"The technique for conception of a human embryo outside the mother's body. Several ova, or eggs, are removed from the mother's body and placed in special laboratory culture dishes (Petri dishes); sperm from the father are then added, or in many cases a sperm is injected directly into an ovum, a process known as intracytoplasmic sperm injection. If fertilization is successful, a fertilized ovum (or several fertilized ova), after undergoing several cell divisions, is either transferred to the mother's or a surrogate mother's body for normal development in the uterus, or frozen for later implantation. Eggs also can be frozen and fertilized later."
In which you'd have to go to a sperm bank, chose the characteristics you'd like for your child. Sometimes it doesn't work right away, so when you make your payment, in some of these clinics, you're paying for up to "three tries." If those don't work, then you have pay another few thousand dollars.
However, which ever way you look at it, you do still "need men" to submit their sperm (sperm donor), you just don't have to interact with him.
If you want more information on this, simply enter "invitro fertilization" in the search engine.

...well it makes sense...to make a female you need XX and for a male you need XY
...all Xs come from women and all Ys come from men
...we should be able to make an army of women but men can't do that because they need an X and their Y to make a man....ha ha ha lol
Women rule !!
