Gambling in a casino generates revenue for the state which can be spent in productive ways (hopefully).

Well, from experience I'd have to say... you can't WIN if you don't PLAY. The degree of gambling I do I keep to an "investment level". I'm only using money I truly can "afford to lose". I'm very much a control freak about my habits in gambling so over the years I can say I have had not losses. I put a little in, enough to win back my original investment... to be played again later. I split on anything over that, half into authentic savings and the other half to YIPPEEE... LUCKY ME. Just know that I believe that anything done to excess will come back to haunt us... so with as much enjoyment I get from "the game" I'm downright serious about my approach.
