How come when one lives, they're afraid of death, but when they're gone, they don't come back? Is it better than living?

I'm 21 and will be 22 on august 16th and have had epilepsy since around 5 and all my life I've dreamed of finding a good paying job, owning a home, and if I'm lucky enough while in the process of complete those tasks meet a nice girl who will have me and go out with me and maybe even one day get married. And if at that point in my life I feel like I'm ready emotionally and financially to take on that responsibility possibly even kids. Is it too late for a 22 year old high school graduate person with epilepsy with no job little money and no college experience to LEGALLY do those things? And if not how?

My friends and have been talking about this for the last couple of months. I am ready to be 30 this year and a couple of my friends are getting close to it too.
Getting to be 30 suddenly looks to be a turning point in my views and thoughts about things in life now. Is this normal? Does everybody goes through this? Does it get better or worse as the years go by?

I don't know if the fact that starting to look back in time and say "Have I done something worthwhile?" has something to do with it. I tell my friends that all of sudden I get afraid of the future. Though I feel more confident and secure about things, I feel in uncertanty about the mistakes and the benefficial decitions I have made.

Now life is really full of expectations and experiences but can this process of looking at your life and starting to analize myself be part of it?
My friends tell me not to worry about anything but I think they are getting the same thoughts... what do you guys think? Does it vary with people?

Must we be crucial and antisocial in order to survive, or polite, weak and glee?

My 20-something old girlfriend has issues stemming from her parents' early divorce. Her dad left her life at an early age and her mom was left to fend for the both of them. With no father, my gf can't seem to carry on a normal relationship (my sister says she has no idea how to give back love that is given to her), she feels second-rate because she had no dad, and she feels completely lost in her life (both in who she is and where she is meant to go). She also cannot see a psychologist because she doesn't have insurance or the money to pay out-of-pocket.

My question, then, is, does anyone have any recommendations for books I could give to her as a gift so that she can somehow begin to understand where to start? I'd prefer not to give her too many pseudo-alternative religious thought books, like Deepak Chopra, etc. Something that is an easy, non-scientific read that would still enlighten her.

I have bipolar disorder, some times I hear whispers and some times I hear voices and sometimes they shout. For the longest time I thought they were deamons. Since I have been taking anti-psychotics they have stopped. I remeber them as being so real. People tell me that they were but how do you really know?

I want to find a commune in CA. that has NO religious affiliation. It would be a community that has everyone acting the original roles of humans as hunter gatherers. There would only be hunting/ farming and village life as that of the movie "The Village". If anyone can direct me to such a place that would be great!

How is looting someone's store, or burning down your neighbors house, all of those types of things, protesting the government? Or protesting anything, for that matter? How do people justify looting?

He is a paranoind, insecure, defensive, cynical, sarcastic, vengefull, egotistical, power control freak. He just got his contractors license and is allready not relating well to customers. He takes their critisisms and change of hearts (oh no, this doesnt look like I thought it would) and percieves it as (man, you really suck at this and you better do something about it for free). In doing so he feels attacked and reacts accordingly with all the afforementioned traits at work especially coming off obnoxious and rude and ultimately threatening and yet he honestly feels it is THEM that is the problem. I see trainwreck after trainwreck if he doesnt either learn how to handle "the customer" or recognize his major character flaws (which have often been cause for him to become physically abusive with me as I merely attempt to explain these types of situations thinking I am now attacking him and accusing him of being inept. It didnt matter when it was just me but now it concerns our life
