Could it possibly help to be honest with this person and not beat around the bush.

If you do this and this person responds the way you wanted then great, if not then at least you have tried and can move forward in your life.

Do you your self know what it means to love with pure unconditional love? If so then share this with this person...

Best wishes to you........ ♥

If you truly love someone, it can mean loving them enough to simply understand that maybe they just can't return your feelings. You know like that old saying about if you love someone set them free, if they return to you then it was meant to be, but if they don't then they were never yours to begin with....you can't open someone' s eyes to something that may or may not want to see...but if you really do love them....honestly love them, then you will find a way to be happy just being with them in any way that they feel comfortable....sometimes it is the person that was there for you faithfully and unconditionally that you remember the most fondly...and from there....sometimes things can happen! But remember this, you too must also love yourself enough to want to be with someone who can feel the same wonderful feelings for you...because you are worth that! Maybe that is the thing you should be more focused on.

Good Luck to you!

You must have pure unconditional love for yourself to give it to someone else or be able to receive it or even see it. You have to understand what it really is.

You must have faith. You must believe that pure and unconditional love from others exist and you must be willing to open yourself to it completely with no reservations.

Firstly, I would have to comment that near all the answers posted to your question do not address the question you have asked. It would do us well to first understand that unconditional love is not solely based within the parameters of specific individuals i.e. here a person, there a person, here a relationship, there a relationship and the numerous beguiling phrases accompanied by less than educated or experienced individuals.

Through the ages into our present, the word Love has been so abused and crucified by man that very few people today know what the significance of true love is let along how to define it. Thousands will hypothesize and theorize but those who know the truth will all give the same answer. That love permeates every part of creation and that no human language or tongue can describe exactly what it is. Yet it exists. Many will call it God.

To be touched by the true feeling of love is such a profound event in its own nature that the ordinary man is incapable of discerning from whence it came, and whereto it goes. Modern man and woman, are so conditioned and self-centered in the consciousness of "I, me, and mine," that they have yet to discovered the omnipresent power that resides within themselves nor any other beings that share the same environs. You may call this personal power God or whatever suits you. The fact of the matter is no matter what one wants to call it or address it as, it is an integral part of us that can not be denied within our lives. Additionally, even fewer are able to express this deep emotion on the same level or have the ability of loving others in the same degree.

So where is this love, you may ask? Mankind has perverted and turned biblical and spiritual truth upside down. Contrary to the testimony of Scripture, they seek to cancel God's unconditional election and grace (based on Christ's work). In addition, contrary to personal spiritual events which are universal, man has made redemption in either system contingent upon men meeting certain conditions. Furthermore, man erroneously misapplies this "unconditional" attribute to love and forgiveness on the one hand and spiritual enlightenment on the other.

Over the past several decades, religious liberalism and its stepchild postmodernism have spawned the cult of unconditional love and forgiveness. Consequently, nearly every manner of evil is tolerated in the name of hypocritical "love" or excused on the basis of a false form of forgiveness.

So then what is unconditional love? Unconditional love is something much, much more. Unconditional Love is a dynamic and powerful energy. It is a life force that exists within all of us and is available at any moment simply by turning our attention to it. It requires practice and intent to allow this energy to fully permeate our daily experience. It begins with ourselves, for without self-love, we cannot know what true love can be. The universal law of unconditional love is based on a premise of that which we send out, returns to us in greater measure. It’s an endless full cup, generated within us without boundaries and the limitations of man. It exists beyond us physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.

And lastly, to answer your question, What does it take to open someone’s eyes to unconditional love? There are several paths but only one main ingredient. Acceptance of acceptance. Let me repeat that slowly. Acceptance of acceptance. Not until you have had everything taken away from you, not until you have lost anything or everything of value in your life, not until you have groveled in the dirt and cried out to Grandfather Sun in the morning and yelled at the top of your lungs to Grandmother Moon alone in the dark, not until you have lost your self-importance and released your past history, not until you have heard the message of the lone raven and understood its call, not until you have danced together with your spirit on a lone mountain, not until you have beat your drum until you could beat it no more, and not until you witness the lowly moth that seals the magical powers of the Divine for your transformation will you see and understand that everything you were ever taught was a lie to keep you hidden from the powers of unconditional love.

To me there is no difference between one person and another; I behold all as soul-reflections of the one God. This ‘One’ spirit which encompasses all of mankind as a species. I do not think of anyone as a stranger, for I know that we are all part of this One Spirit. When you experience the true meaning of religion, or whatever belief system you choose which is to know this higher power or God, you will realize that this is none other than your Self, and that this quality of man exists equally and impartially in all beings.

The truth is everywhere, only if you want to see it. Unconditional love is also everywhere only if you want to accept it. And anyone reading the Bible for them self will truly find this truth with intent. I hope that person is you.
