i am NOT advocating the killing of children i am just asking what the average american consumer would do to perpetuate the consumption? children die all the time from slave labor so that we all can consume the way we do. so i ask would you rather kill children or stop consuming on a major level?

As consumers of some products we might contribute to someone's oppression. Those $100 Nikes you have on may have been sewen together by a 9 year old girl in China who works 16 hours a day and gets beaten if she doesn't produce enough.
I think if I knew for sure or had solid evidence of something like that happening at the hands of a specific brand or company I would try not to purchase their products but I'm not going to go nuts trying to make sure every single thing I consume is not harming someone in someway. I'd probably barely be able to function in today's society if I did that.
Is that even where you were coming from with this question?

I have stopped consuming everything but the contents of my car's radiator. Yes. I do think that handfulls of slug children need to be salted...heavily salted
