Anyone here read the news? Around the world, honey bee are disappearing. This will have a negative impact considering the fact that honeybees pollinate a third of our food, including almost all fruits and vegetables.

What's your thought on this?

I see them doing it under my birdfeeders by the pond. Sometimes the duck being chased just calmly walks away and the chaser does too and sometimes the one being chased zooms off into the air like it's scared. The chaser often looks like it is snapping at the other one, trying to bite the other's tail. Usually it's a male doing the chasing of other males, but not always. Can anyone give an explanation of this, please?

We found 4 of them together. Here is a picture:

I THINK that is a tail, not a mouth (because it doesn't appear to have a jaw). It is small, about as long as my hand.

Found all four washed up in the Atlantic in Eastern Canada (so starting to get chilly as it is fall)... if that helps at all?

Found it while we were camping and I need to know what animal it is. We guessed sheep but we're not quite sure. Does anyone know exactly (and any websites that kind of prove it would be nice)?

I found a beautiful little ladybug in my house this morning. Obviously, it really belongs outside. However, the daytime temps around here (Westchester, NY) are in the low 60's and we have been getting some frost at night.
If I put the ladybug out during the day, will it find someplace warm to hide at night, or do they just die at this time of year?
Thank you.

I was sitting at my computer, and suddenly I heard the sound of a very small impact just in front of me.
I looked down, and there on a piece of paper, I saw this little critter.
http://flickr.com/photos/swampy_bogtrotter/1840536549/
I looked around to see where he could have come from, and lo, I discovered one or two tiny pin-holes on the ceiling directly above him, so it looks like he's burrowed through he plaster ceiling from the roof space above.
To give an idea of scale, he's smaller than a grain of rice, and he appears quite caterpillary, having little tiny legs thinner than a human hair.

Can anyone identify this?
Do I need to call out a pest controller?

I'm doing a speech about why I dislike PETA, and I can't find any books about it anywhere!

Any advice?

(It's required that we have at least two books in our bibliography.)

I read in this one book, devil's teeth, that two sea lions were released in the shark-infested Farallon Islands. The first one, eDog, swam safely to shore. The second, Swissy, was released, photographed for about thirty seconds, and then promptly bitten in half by a 17-foot, 2 ton great white shark named gouge (for the large boat prop marks on his head).

The book says that the shutter of a camera went off exactly as the great white breached out and hit Swissy, and I assumed that it would be one of those "everywhere" pictures that you see. It must have been too violent or was lost or something, because I can't find it anywhere on google, ask, dogpile, etc.

All I can find is some brief mentionings of the pinniped in certain sea lion rescue-and-release articles. It bluntly puts the whole "ripped-in-half-by-a-giant-shark" thing and moves on to radio tags and whatnot.

The point is, I can't find anything more on them than that. So PLEASE help me, I want to learn more.
