Dinosaurs didn't eat grass, because grass as we know it hadn't evolved at the time of the dinosaurs. Most of the plants then were gymnosperms (conifers etc), and the flowering angiosperms (including grasses) were only just starting to evolve at the time of the dinosaurs.
The plant-eating dinosaurs probably lived on ferns, conifers and water plants.
