The female porcupine's quills are pulled very flat and smooth (kind of like skin hair is controlled by muscles) this is then very slippy so when the male mounts the female he has to bite into the top of her neck to hold on. Over generations and generations the male porcupine has also evolved quills on their penises in order to get a better 'grip' as such whilst performing the act. Hope this helps.

well a boy porcupine meets a girl porcupine and really really fancies her, he show her his best slugsites and the catfood on the porch....and if she likes him too,after much time and effort,one special day....her spines go all soft and he gets to score...quickly...and then,,,a little while later....lil baby procupines
no really,I know the spines go soft when there handled properbly....
did you know that toms have reversed spikes...thats why the ladycats scream so:))

Belly to belly. Their underside has stiff hair, rather than quills. Their foreplay leaves a bit to be desired, from my point of view. That's why they smell of stale urine.
