Interesting question. Although it would be a physical impossibility, due to the vast differences in genetic coding for different species, a worst case scenario would be that a totally unpredictable lifeform would be created, bearing both the strengths and weaknesses of it's proctor species, but with it's own genetic make up, which would lead to new, possibly dangerous behavioral patterns that would have to be cafefully monitored as they evolved. Cool concept though.

If animals of different species breed you get a hybrid.

However nine times out of ten hybrids are not a good thing, it mutates their DNA and they end up not being able to breed and develop a mess of diseases and illnesses.

It can't happen. Both species involved would need to have the same number of Chromosomes for one.

its actually been done. they didnt have sex they use the sperm from a doner. but they killed the offspring
