On a recent holiday in Southern Spain, I saw a group of White Egrets in the early evening, flying back to their roosting place, a common sight. The difference was that the front two birds in the formation where crows. My wife also saw it so it was`nt a mistake. Is this very unusual?

We live in a bi-level and they are roosting on the roof next to the master bedroom and their coo-ing is driving us CRAZY. Suggestions please, we've tried the hooting owl but that only worked for about a week. Any other suggestions? Other than shooting (that's just not original).
