My brother says he can smell winter where as i say that winter doesnt have a distinct smell so he cant smell winter. I was just wondering if there is any scientific explanation that could settle this arguement (perticularily in my favour if possible). Thanks

In other words, has the process evolved from many attempts at social interaction with the opposite sex and the most successful survived on, repeated enough so it is "hardwired" from birth, or is it purely instinctive, with every animal from the entire species performing the same ritual since they evolved?

(im not sure i`m explaining myself too well!)
