Bobcats tend to be short, squat and muscular. They don't have the long legs for a long distance run, but can sprint and climb well. I don't think they willing take on animals much larger than themselves if given a choice, but the will certainly defend themselves against whatever goes after them.

The bobcat is a hunter because its eyes are in front of its face. Also the claws and teeth make it a carnivore.
