I've seen the hawk migrations in my back yard (massachusetts). They are really awesome mainly because they are so big and you can see them and identify them from a great distance away. If you're a birder, it's quite cool.

I would also suggest the Platt River, Nebraska next month. That is the largest congregation of Snow Geese, Sandhill Cranes, and lots of other arctic waterfowl in all North America.

I have always wanted to see the swallows return to Capistrano, since that date is also my daughters birthday and thought that it would be an extra special. We now live 400 miles away, but have not been fortunate. Someday???

I saw the swallows with my grandfather when I was 14 and he was in his late 90's. It was an awesome experience...
