Why is the universe bifurcated with sexes ? Why do they then have different characteristics ?And ofcourse they attract each other - but I very well know that it is just not to continue the human race ,there has to be some more meaningful reason ,else just replicating the species is even possible by cell division.

Humans are a species of ape, right? Why do we like to keep other apes, and other animals, as pets? When you look at it like this, it seems weird that one species of animal (us) feels such a strong need to keep other species for comfort purposes. Do other animals also keep pets?

It is simply a case of the magnitude of changes that occur. Changes in Allele frequencies are the principle upon which evolution is based.

I saw an insect that moves like a centipede except it did not have a lot of legs, more like a worm but fast like a centipede, it's black, about 1/2 inch to an inch long. It had to long projectile things at it's end. It looked slimy.
Never seen anything like it before, want to know what it is and if it's dangerous, I have 4 small children.

A story on the news the other day mentioned that the US now has the largest population of tigers and second largest population of african lions in captivity in the world, most are kept as private pets in populated areas,in flimsy cages without proper care, they have no fear of humans and attacks by these animals are increasing every year.My question is , Is there a possibility of enough of these animals getting into the wild to have a breeding population and what would the effects be? Imagine a few dozen tigers running around in cattle country or a pride of lions running around in your local national forest..

Just saw a bug in my bathroom. Didn't get a good look at it, but it's small, sort of beetle-ish, red and black, with a red cross on its back. Looked really cool. I live in a city in the upper Midwest.
