These three are all birds of prey and have their sharp talons and curved beak to tear flesh. Several different species of each of these three birds of prey exist. Eagle is largest, and there are many species globally; many kinds of hawks too, but most hawks are larger than kites and smaller than eagles; white tailed kite is like a small falcon in size. They have an amazing ability to hover overhead before they strike their prey, unlike hawks, eagles. Birds of prey are also perennially monogamous, mate for life.

I can't believe some people have never heard of a Kite. Anyway they are all birds of prey and all very different. Eagles tend to be big and go after larger prey than Hawks, or the Falcon-like Kite. Kites and Falcons can be trained to hunt for you.

All three are members of the Accipitridae family, and differ from one another enough to be classified into several different genera. Hawks and kites are generally smaller than eagles. Hawks are classified into several genera and numerous species; some are nimble forest hunters, such as the accipiters; others tend to soar a great deal, such as the buteos. Kites are more specialized; they tend to be found in open areas with nearby water and many of them are harriers.

The term hawk refers to birds of prey in any of three senses:

* Strictly, to mean any of the species in the genera Accipiter, Micronisus, Melierax, Urotriorchis, and Megatriorchis. The widespread Accipiter genus includes goshawks, sparrowhawks, the Sharp-shinned Hawk and others. They are mainly woodland birds that hunt by sudden dashes from a concealed perch. They usually have long tails and high visual acuity.

* More generally, to mean small to medium-sized birds that are members of the Accipitridae, the family which includes the true hawks (Accipiters) and also eagles, kites, harriers, buzzards, and Old World vultures.

* Loosely, to mean almost any bird of prey.

Eagles are large birds of prey, who inhabit mainly the Old World, with only two species (Bald Eagle and Golden Eagle) commonly found in North America, a few in South America and three (White-bellied Sea Eagle, Little Eagle and Wedge-tailed Eagle) in Australia. They are members of the bird order Falconiformes, family Accipitridae and belong to several different genera, not necessarily closely related to each other.

In Britain before 1678, Eagle referred specifically to the Golden Eagle, the other native species, the White-tailed Eagle, being known as the Erne. The modern name "Golden Eagle" for Aquila chrysaetos was introduced by the naturalist John Ray.

Like all birds of prey, eagles have very large powerful hooked beaks for tearing flesh from their prey, strong legs and powerful talons. They also have extremely keen eyesight to enable them to spot potential prey from a very long distance. This keen eyesight is primarily contributed by their extremely large pupils which cause minimal diffraction (spreading) of the incoming light.

Eagles are sometimes used in falconry.

Kites are raptors with long wings and weak legs which spend a great deal of time soaring. In general they will take live prey but mostly feed on carrion.

They are birds of prey which along with hawks, eagles, Old World vultures and many others are in the family Accipitridae.

Together with less closely related groups such as New World vultures and Osprey, they make up the diurnal bird of prey order Falconiformes.

I just had to say its funny that people think you are talking about a kite that you fly. There are many differences in the subspecies of these animals..too much info for this site. You should look up raptors or buy a book.
