Well, as yall probabaly know there is Jerry (only a tropical depression basically) but still, What is it like to go through a tropical depression - Cat 1. I have never been through a hurricane/TD-TS because I used to live in Kentucky. We live in Bay St Louis, MS and have been for about a year. Anyways, we live right in front of a canal so we are going to a friends house in Diamondhead for Jerry. Also what are other peoples plans for not just evacuating this one but also other future storms (if their are any)

I checked the weather next week because we're planning to go to the beach. The weather forecast says the weather would be: Overcast, t-storms; humid. What does this mean? especially overcast? Thanks!

I need to understand why it is so HOT in Tucson (2200 Feet Elevation). It's near the end of September and it's still 85 degrees at 8:30 at night. I understand the concept of solar loading, so how does the heat remain long after sunset. I don't think we have any more or less heat retaining geography than anywhere else. For instance, I've lived in Albuquerque (5000 Feet Elevation) and while hot in the sun, it is "cool" in the shade. Not so in Tucson. People say it's a "dry heat", but since its officially 36% Rh; I don't understand that claim either.

daylight and solar angle you would encounter.
encounter if you were to travel from the North Pole to
South Pole. (Be sure to use at least 5 or more different latitude locations on your travel
path.) Do the same for a day in the Southern Hemisphere winter.

a strong cyclone with strong northeast winds ahead of a warm front will get lighter as a warm front draws near and even calm as the warm fron is right on top of the location. then as the warm front passes theris a shift to the south or southwest gradually increasing to the forecast speed.

i'm just north of l.a., ca... it started getting pretty windy outside so i looked up the weather and there was a severe weather alert, this is what it says...

..THERE IS A SLIGHT CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS. THE LOS ANGELES BASIN
IS EXPECTED TO RECEIVE MOST OF ITS RAINFALL FRIDAY AFTERNOON INTO
FRIDAY NIGHT. ANY THUNDERSTORM WILL BE CAPABLE OF PRODUCING BRIEF
HEAVY RAINS AND SMALL HAIL. DUE TO THE COLD AND UNSTABLE NATURE OF
THIS STRONG UPPER LEVEL LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM...CONDITIONS WILL ALSO
BE FAVORABLE FOR POSSIBLE WATERSPOUT AND FUNNEL CLOUD ACTIVITY.

oops sorry for the CAPS it just copied it that way... but seriously though, waterspouts and funnel clouds? i'm from ohio so we have tornadoes pretty regularly... i've never heard of one out here, and i've talked to lots of people out here about tornadoes. i know they can happen anywhere... but this sounds like an exaggeration? is it going to be that bad?

ps - any time it rains here people think it's a "storm" so...
