I live in north dallas and i am wondering when the rain is going to stop. I feel so lazy when it rains.

I dont remember ever having this much rain in June before and it will be lingering into July.

Going backacking in Inyo Nat'l Forest July 12th and trying to get the expected temperatures so I'll know how to pack. Closest I could get was Mammoth Lakes, which is a bit lower in elevation.

I live in Texas USA where we have been experiencing frequent rain for many days. Today, I was watching the rain fall from the clouds in the distance. I could actually see the water falling at an angle from the clouds as they were moved along by the gentle wind.

What holds all that water in the clouds until it finally falls to the ground?
I mean, that is A LOT of water and must be terribly heavy.
What force holds it up there until it's time to fall?

Why doesn't gravity just pull it down immediately and what determines the moment the rain finally does begin to fall?

???

As water condenses below 100 C and it is really cold high up in the sky why don't all clouds just condense as rain the second they form?

The weather news predicts more wet weather.
I have really been one to get concerned about predictions regard global warming, vanishing rain forests, ozone layers etc etc...but I am now starting to wonder !
Is this just a wet June, if so it is the worst on record, or is this the start of a major change to our weather and worst still the begining of a major shift in the worlds climate.
Its all a bit worrying Yeah ?
