ok dumb question but is AccuWeather or Weather channel forecast more accurate?

both say totally opposite things for the dates im looking at?!

It is impossible to answer that with the information you've given. To do so, a verification scheme must be applied to many forecasts - that is if you mean accuracy in general. For one particular day (as you mention), a forecast which is characteristically more accurate may be much worse.

Unfortunately (from seeing responses here to many like questions and those chosen), many people presume accuracy based on popularity or opinion rather than facts. So I am not sure that would help really - I've done that with such forecasts once or twice and it didn't change people's opinions much.

If you post what location and days you refer to, I can say what I think regarding those.

I suggest to check the National Weather Service forecast:

http://www.nws.noaa.gov

Just click on one map after another to zoom in on your location of interest. All U.S. forecasts you see on the internet use much of their data from NOAA (NWS, NCEP, etc.) if not the entire zone forecast placed at their site in their own format.

You can only get but so accurate with meteorology anyhow. I am sure both would give you acceptable info.
