Well, my dad constantly tells me to hide under trees if I ever get caught in lightning and thunder. I know this is wrong. So, give me your input, and I'll show it to him. :~)

I've been too lazy to get a thermometer, and i don't konw if its a bodily response, but it seems like it gets hotter at night in my apt. My a/c crapped out, but i leave 2 windows open to get a breeze. Its 80 outside right now but feels like 70 in here.

At around sunset, it feels like it jumps up a few degrees. I start sweating...whereas now i am not. It stays this hot until about 5 am and then starts to cool down again.

I thought it was my tv, i have a plasma and generally watch more tv at night, but i noticed if i'm busy and leave it off, it still gets warmer at night.

Any insight would be nice.

I don't understand these people. They did polls on the 2007 Atlantic Hurricane Season and most don't have a plan or would defy evacuation. Another example is when Hurricane Katrina. The day before landfall city officals along the Gulf Coast issued mandatory evacuation orders and I got to you I believe they did everything they could to prepare the city and the freaking people won't evacuate. PEOPLE WHEN A CATEGORY 5 IS HEADED FOR YOUR AREA LEAVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I MEAN HOW PEOPLE DOES IT HAVE TO GET TO GET YOU TO LISTEN. When Katrina was coming on shore people kept calling emergency officals crying that the storm surge is rushing into their homes. You wouldn't be crying if you evacuated. Now 2 years later people still don't have a plan. For all the people answering let me tell you this NOW and listen carefully: GOD IS GOING TO TEACH YOU A LESSON. He is a going send a hurricane more destructive than Katrina. It could be this year or next year but be prepared.

seem to be happier, the hotter and drier the climate. I live in Southern California and it is a treat when we get a cool cloudy day. It just seems foolish to wish for hot weather in a desert.

whereas after a good rain when humidity is actually very high people seldom say that a humid day...yes it is correct that high temperature causes greater evaporation and that vapour increases humidity content of the local atmosphere ...but from my standpoint degree of humidity in this case will never be greater than the degree of humidity after a heavy rain .

I thought lightning strikes tall buildings. A lightning struck my house and there was a flame in my basement. Could that be prevented by lightning rod?
