this is because 22/7 is not pi, 22/7 is an approximation of pi. Pi cannot be expressed in a fraction. The calculator is correct, your primary school text book is wrong.

pi is a very complex number and it cannot be written in any fractional form. 22/7 is actually an estimate to the actual value of pi, so it does not give any accurate value of pi. Thats why the same sequence does not come up.

pi is closer to being 21.987 and so on divided by 7. 22/7 is just close. the pi button on the calculator is the correst answer.

22/7 is not an exact value of pi. It is only an approximation.
