On a clear sunny day, the sky above us looks bright blue. In the evening, the sunset puts on a brilliant show of reds, pinks and oranges. It is truly breathtaking.

Sky looks blue in the day because of scattering of white light and blue being scattered more compared to red color. In the night, sky is black with stars visible if not cloudy.
Early morning and at sunsets, the part of the sky where you see the sun is reddish orange.

generally the sky is blue in the day because molecules scatter more blue light than red light from the sun. when the sun is setting and it is in a straight path to our eyesight, it scatters more red light

the sky isn't blue because of methane in the air, it is blue because the majority of the earth is covered in water and of the visible light spectrum water reflects blue the most onto the atmosphere.

the color of the sky is clear. what you see as blue or white or what ever is really the density of the water vapor and derbies in the air that gives it is color.
