I've been too lazy to get a thermometer, and i don't konw if its a bodily response, but it seems like it gets hotter at night in my apt. My a/c crapped out, but i leave 2 windows open to get a breeze. Its 80 outside right now but feels like 70 in here.

At around sunset, it feels like it jumps up a few degrees. I start sweating...whereas now i am not. It stays this hot until about 5 am and then starts to cool down again.

I thought it was my tv, i have a plasma and generally watch more tv at night, but i noticed if i'm busy and leave it off, it still gets warmer at night.

Any insight would be nice.

Overnight your exterior walls cool so it is probably cooler in the morning. During the day the exterior walls receive a LOT of solar gain.
It doesn't "soak through " ( transmitted by conduction) until evening.
This phenomena is most greatly observed if your apartment is on the west side of the building where the sun hits it later in the day.
I always prefer an apartment with eastern exposure.
You don't get much heat with northern exposure so if you are in a cold climate, southern exposure is best for reducing utility cost in winter.

The reason your room gets hotter at night is because when its about 80 degrees outside, and you open the windows. the heat from outside comes in. so it makes it hot. i know this because it happened to my room. And in the day, your body usually doesn't respond to temperature because your running around or your just to busy to notice it. and you can get water anytime. at night. it is harder.

the clue is..."if I'm busy"
right now, you are sitting at your computer desk, typing....not too much exertion there
At night, you either sit there and watch the TV (which in itself gives off a lot of heat)
Or you "get busy" doing things you cannot do during the day because it is simply too hot.
Open two windows wide open, and you should be able to get a breeze in there...just make sure they are on different walls.
Also, during the day, the heat from all the apartments below yours (if there are any) rises up to hit your, so your apartment is absorbing this heat all day, and releasing it into your room all night.
Hope this helps!!!

Do you live near the water? If you do it might be the water. It heats up all day and then cools off at night.
