some of the surgeons and consultants working in the nhs. My daughter recently underwent an exploratory examination under anesthetic and was so upset by the rudeness displayed by her constultant when he came to see her after her procedure. She was devastated by his attitude and has difficulty in understanding why he was so very rude to her.

Some people seem to think that they will do severe damage to their health if they skip even one or two meals, and the conventional wisdom seems to be that skipping meals is a bad idea, and that a complete zero-calorie fast is life-threatening, even if it's only for a few days. However, I have been searching articles in the so-called "prestigious peer-reviewed medical journals," and I find almost no cases of any bad effects of fasting lasting up to 30 days and even longer. Does anybody know of any real evidence (or personal experiences) of any harm done by total fasts of up to 30 days? Please be specific.

I just had a neuropsychological eval for possible brain damage. I've never had a test like that that took 5 hours. I started getting a headache during the spatial testing. Then I started getting dizzy and felt weird and spacey the rest of the day. Is this normal? Why did I feel this way after the test? I normal don't feel weird like that.

On the way home I felt really spacey and next thing I know I am falling up the steps. What did those tests do to my brain??

Please only answer if you are a medical specialist or an experienced patient. Thanks.

I keep on hearing about how people go directly into medical school after high school, and im just wondering why we dont do the same? I mean i know technically you dont have to have a degree to get into medical school except for the class requirements and i think at least 90 hours. what is the point of this? its a waste of money, and a waste of time. ideally you should have a degree before applying to medical school and i think this just puts up so many challenges for a lot of people who, if they could, be really good doctors.

Hi! I Just took an employee drug test today and am a little worried about the .5 mg of ativan I took a week and a half ago. That is all I took, and it is not my prescription, it's my sister's. It was also a hair test. Will I not pass even though I took such a small dose? Do all drug test test for benzodiazepines?

So i have some questions about heart rate...
why is it important to obtain a pulse at all?
Why is it important to be able to obtain a pulse on different parts of your body?
why is it important to know your target heart rate range?
if your heart rate drops below/exceeds target heart rate what does this mean for training?

I know this is extremely broad. I think I understand that only a medical doctor may do this. But what regulations do hospitals generally have? Are given "diagnoses" generally written on paper with clear guidelines or is the experience and knowledge of the medical doctor the most important (determining factor)?

I'm sorry this question is so broad. I mean, scientific discoveries are being made all the time. How does the medical doctor integrate these advances in the clinical work? .. or is this a decisions made by others?
