Because they are ignorant people who have never seen someone's body slowly whither away from the agonies of a disease like MS. If these anti stem research morons had a disease like this happen to them or one of their loved ones, they would understand the need for stem cell research.

The unused fetus from a fertility clinic is going to be thrown away anyway. I sure would prefer it to be used to save my Uncle's life who has MS.

I think the two arguments are of different subjects. One is of a medical condition, and one is of child birth.

That's just my opinion.

I actually support stem cell research, but I'm pretty conservative. I'm for anything that improves quality of life, besides blood and transplanting animal organs into the human body. I would never support that.

As far as the liberal argument goes about pro-lifers not caring about unwanted, born children, well, what about prevention of pregnancy? Why not start there instead of leaving the dilemma upon a fetus? A person already living, already breathing, is also already thinking, or so we hope. The whole pro-life argument seems to leave out the fact that there are so many ways to prevent pregnancy, and a simple action can prevent the situation where a baby has to be destroyed. Heck, there's even the morning after pill, and it's just $40 bucks. Last I heard, an abortion costs waaaay more.

It is really simple the two are unrelated. most embryonic stem cells come from left over fertilized embryo's from fertility clinics not aborted fetus's when abortion happens the chemicals or surgical actions actually damage the embryo making it non usable also from an abortion development can not be controlled due to no regularity of when the abortion happens. When a fertility clinics prepare for artificial insemination they create back up embryos in case the pregnancy doesn't take. These spares that could be used to provide research sit in freezers waiting to be destroyed any how since they wont be used. Pro life groups would rather they be destroyed instead of saving lives.

stem cells are available from other sources but majority come from embryos because they are not yet specialized. pro life means not taking the life of an unborn child

Once again we have a bunch of dumba**es who have no idea what they are talking about. Adults have stem cells just like fetuses do, and they are also not specialized yet (unlike what one of the huge brains above me said). A stem cell is a cell that has the ability to become any type of tissue. You all need to educate yourselves before trying to discuss things you know nothing about.

Because it's their thinking process and their belief.
because someone wants people not to kill babies doesn't mean it's OK to take from the abortion doctors lab and begin to tear apart an embryo because it's mother decided to kill it .

They are only pro-life for select lives.

They really only care about fetuses and not people.
In fact they don't give a dam.n what happens to all those unwanted babies after they are born...as long as they are born.
