Aside from dying in a car accident, being murdered, or something tragic like that, how long will i live? I know you don't know the exact answer but will the age i live to be similar to that of my parents? Or lets say my parents lived a decent amount of years...if i stay away from things like drinking and smoking and stay on top of my diet and exercise will i be prolonging my life? Just curious if there is a correlation to the life span of grandparent, parent and child? thanks

I know that a human life is worth more than than of animal.

But as we know, animals are almost never assisted when they give birth (and they don't seem to have many problems, while that happens).

Does that mean that human childbirths are riskier?

I started on my antibiotics after my wisdom tooth surgery. I stopped halfway because suddenly a fear struck in me what if it contains animal origins.( i am a vegetarian when it comes to medicines) But upon asking other Yahoo! users, this fear was untrue, they say. I want to thank them.
The problem now is:
So if I continue to take the antibiotics NOW, after a gap of about 7 days, will

1. it bring harm to me?
2. the antibiotics have the same desired effect as if I did not stop half way?

What is the maximum number of days that we can have a lull in consumption in order for the antibiotics to work?

The antibiotics/medicines are:
1. Amoxycillin (Capsules BP 250mg) (Pulmoxyl-250)
2. Metronidazole (200mg)
3. MEFENAMIC ACID (250MG)
4. FAMOTIDINE (20MG)

Hope you can help me. Thanks for your advice.

I've read(somewhere) that only about 20% of med school applicants get accepted. Now, does that mean for each school, the average rate of acceptance is 20% but the applicants can still apply elsewhere or that only 20% of all med school applicants will actually go to med school?

Lately, I've noticed that the blood vessels in my arms, hands, legs, and feet are wider than usual...dilated, in other words. I recently stopped taking my prescriptions for depression and ADHD a week ago and I haven't noticed a return to my previous depressed, anxious, ADHD self; it's almost like I've been miraculously cured. I stopped the medications because after years of taking them, they were greatly increasing my pulse and blood pressure and causing arrhythmias. I've suffered from mental illness for half of my life and now I find myself suddenly going into remission for no apparent reason. It's funny because for the past couple of years, I would be suicidal if I wasn't on medication and now I'm not on anything and I feel normal! Anyways, I was wondering if my enlarged blood vessels and lowered pulse (dropped from 90+ bpm to 65-70 bpm) is a result of the drugs leaving my system. Is there any correlation? Thank you!

My 6 year old is absolutely taken with the flow of blood through the body. She now asks if the food we're eating has cholesterol because she doesn't want to block her arteries. Tee Hee! I've taught her what I can remember from college anatomy, but now she wants to know about the path food takes and how it turns into waste. She also wants to know how our bodies fight off germs. I don't remember enough of all of that to feel comfortable teaching her. She also likes pictures (drawn or real) obviously. Any suggestions?

would a medical technologist use outside information 2 help diagnose a patient??? (for example, would they use things like low blood pressure readings in their reports on a patient with anemia? or use EKGs/ECGs 2 help with a high cholesterol patient??? x-rays for melignant tumors?)
p.s. i dont mean the lab tech actually DOING them, i just mean that if they use them in the patient records or not.

Is it possible that there is any exitotoxity (hyper-exitability) after cardiac arrest when there is a flat EEG?

When cardiac arrest occurs, there is an increase in EEG amplitude in the theta range, then there is an increase against as the EEG becomes delta waves. This is followed by no EEG (20 seconds after cardiac arrest).

But because exitotoxicity occurs, I sumised that anoxic respiration would then begin and this would mean that the EEG would increase and neurones would die by over-exiting them-selves.
The only reason that you would not observe the convulsions, is because it is an atonic convulsion.

Is this true?

I am a male and i am currently 14 and i am 5'7. However, my leg length is as big as a teacher in my school who is 6'4, in addition, i have a friend who is also 14 and he is 5'10 but we have the same leg length...

Does it mean i will grow as tall as the 6'4 teacher?
Will my legs keep on growing (my doc took me x rays and said my growth plates were open)?
When will my upper body grow?
In addition, my forearm length is quite small too, does it mean i finished growing?

I was worried about having low iron or protein so I have been taking 2 multli-vitamin Flintstone's vitamins, 2 chocolate Calcium vitamins, and a Joint Juice can everyday. (contains Glucosamine)

Anyways, I was reading on a few doctors "what to do before surgery" and it said to avoid taking vitamins up to a month before the surgery because they can thin your blood! Should I stop?

I want to be really healthy before going in there, but I don't want to bleed all over the place either. Anyone know? I don't see my doctor for three more weeks and that is for the one week pre-op.
