I use to do this on people. And yes, they use a needle but you'll be fine. Anyways, no matter what, remember three things: 1) Force yourself to relax. That doesn't mean you can't be nervous. But don't tense your muscles. A needle going in a tense arm hurts more. 2) Tell yourself not to move while the needle is going in. You CAN do it. 3) Remember, no matter how scary a needle is or blood or anything else about it, usually it's only a "pinch". You can handle a pinch. Guaranteed.

It's one needle puncture. They will take 4 or 5 vials of blood (samples) from the 1 needle puncture. What you are getting is called a CBC (combined blood count).
What might make you feel better, is if you are anemic and get treated, you will feel a hell of alot better.
It's a simple blood test. Like I said 1 needle puncture.
PS Anemia is common. If you have a low iron count, the oxygen in your blood is unable to "bind" to your red blood cells. Iron creates this binding. So if you have anemia, you will be tired and weak. Treatment is simple, eat steak, green leaf veggies (spinach has the most) , and take iron pills.

Basically, they do a hemoglobin test, which tests for the amount of iron in your blood. No big deal at all and I hate having blood taken. Breath deeply, don't watch the needle go into your skin, and commit yourself to being strong and tough during the blood draw.

I also hate needles! What I do is turn my head away from the sceen of the needle coming to my flesh, close my eyes and clamp my teath tight. It helps as your consentraiting on something else when they stick you with the needle. It's better getting the test done, better safe than sorry.

Oh me too! But I told the nurse and she used a butterfly needle on me, I don't know how young you are, but I'm almost 14, and she used a baby needle on me. Even so, just squeeze your fist as hard as you can! Try to break it, and if that doesn't help ask someone to come with you, so you can squeeze their arm or whatever. Just relax.

I actually just got over anemia, and its just a bit uncomfortable, but if you look away it isn't so bad, it just feels like it goes on forever when they fill three tubes of blood. TAKE YOUR IRON, Iron pills are now your best friends.

If its just for anaemia then possibly they will just prick you finger and take one drop to smear on a piece of glass. Anyway, it takes about a second. Just don't look and it will be all over.

Anemia, eh? I had such a test a few years back. They said something about the lack of protein or something like that.
