An average intelligence would be enough to let you to go into a medical field. Diligence, perseverance, interest and dedication would count a lot though.

How much is the average pay of the doctor largely depends on the specialty, place of work and qualifications of the doctor. There is no definite figure.

Some doctors are highly skillful and qualified and are getting more pay. Some doctors offer a voluntary practice and just receive an allowance for expenditure. The length of experience also makes changes in the average pay.

Every country have different rules. Some governmental establishments offer higher pay than the private ones but it could be the other way around in other countries.

For example:
>> In Saudi Arabia, an overseas resident may be paid at about 4 -7 thousand riyals "monthly". A registrar is paid at a range of 7 - 12 thousand riyals/month. A senior registrar from 12 - 16 thousand riyals/month. A consultant from 16 - 25 thousand riyals/month. (Local doctors are paid almost double of the rate of the foreigners). The pay would be variable as well on the Nationality of the foreigner and qualifications.

>> In Australia, a resident will have approximately 40 -60 K Australian dollars a year. A registrar will have about 70-90 K A$ annually. A consultant can have more than 100 K A$ annually.
