I hear that heating and sudden cooling works, but I'm not a metal worker. Any help? What would a simple forge be consisted of? I'm talking about one that uses only what someone from the 1800s would have usedf (non-electric). I've researched this on the 'Net, but can't find a good answer for a very green novice wannabe forger. Know of any very descriptive links (please post link)?

one face of the building is 4m squared and the wind load acting on the building is apparently 1.0kN/m^2. What would the bracing have to be to resist these loads.

Any ideas?

In some places the phase voltage drops so much that it becomes impossible to operate 230V 1phase motor. Some people derive 230V by connecting a 440/230V transformer. The primary side is connected in between phase to phase. Lighting loads are operated this way. My question is whether inductive loads can be operated this way without harming the motor/equipment ?

The Ark that Noah supposedly built held 2 of every animal. Since each animal has a logical predator, there would be a need to have “feeder animals” kept isolated in certain chambers. Thus increasing the number of animals on the ark. So my question is, is a wooden boat, say the size of Manhattan Island structurally viable in a sea that has no land to tame its waves?

I am wondering how the cooling system on a Hummer works.. I have seen it briefly and the engine seems back and inside the body of the hummer and the radiators are where the engine is normally on a truck and they are angled.. and have an opening above the radiators.. does this help cooling significantly? Do they use electric fans to cool the radiators? Or an engine driven fan?

If anyone knows where there are some good diagrams of the internals of the hummer that would be great too..

I'm talking about the original general production models.. not the pure military or the H2 or H3 etc.
