India is having 50 Hertz frequency system and 230 voltage supply system.So, the instruments are designed on that basis.
U.S.A. is having 60 Hertz frequency system and 110 voltage supply system.
Now,
Rpm=120*frequency/no. of poles.
So, definately instruments requires some adjustment.
If it is having V.F.D.then there is no problem as far as frequency is concerned.
Voltage regulator is required for adjusting the voltage.
But, main thing is basis of design.You can adjust the f and v , but not performance at par.
pl. visit for instruments having both ranges:

Indian instruments work at 230V, 50 Hz.
The standard electric supply in USA is 110V, 60 Hz. One would require a step-up transformer to increase the voltage from 110V to 230V. Even then, its frequency would be 60 Hz. If the instrument has a motor in it, it will rotate at faster speed than in India. If you have to make it run at the correct speed, then you would also require a suitable frequency converter. A Variable frequency drive would be a good idea.

It will not work because USA has the voltage of 110 while we have 220 volts.If i remmember correct the cycles are 60 in USA and 50 in India.So you require basically an inverter to change the voltage if you want to use our gadgets especially suMEET mixies which are popular in USA then buy a gadget which will function in 110 volts.

Provided the specifications of the electric instrument are the same as of U.S.A.

In India the Electrical appliances used are on 220Volts and in USA they use 110Volts.
More over you can check the catelogue of your electrical appliance and see if there could be change in Inflow of current from 220v to 110V.
There are several convertors available in D.I.Y stores or at Malls.

The voltage of india is 220 v ac current whereas that of USA is 110 v ac current.if appliances made in india are used in USA ,it wont work.You need to use an adapter to suite the voltage of USA.
