1) There's about 28 grams in an ounce. There's 16 ounces in a pound. A button would be the lightest and most likely to be around one gram.

2) There's 2.2 pounds per kg and 1000 grams per kg. There's 16 ounces per pound (you must have meant 16 oz, since z isn't a measure of mass or weight). 100 pounds is clearly the heaviest, followed by d (about 50+ pounds), c (about 1 pound), and b (about half a pound).

3) Volume is length times height times width, or 3 * 3 * 9 = 81 cubic feet.

4) Area is length times width and there's 12 inches in a foot, so the area is 1 ft * 3 ft = 3 square feet

Bob is correct.

It sounds to me like you are learning dimensions and their units.

Question four is what many missed. It is because you have to use consistant units. Thus you have to convert the 12 inches and 3 feet to ONE OR THE OTHER.

You could answer the question in either square inches or square feet. You could answer in foot inch, or inch foot, but area is unidimensional.

Learning this concept is a very key fundamental in science. Don't take it lightly!

Question 4: 12" x 3' = A

ANSWER---> 12" x 3' = 36 inch * foot

1' x 3' = 3 foot * foot = 3 square feet = 3 ft^2

12" x 36" = 432 inch * inch = 432 square inches = 432 in^2

To convert 36 inch * foot to sq. ft for instance, multiply by 1, where 1 = 12"/' = 1'/12" :

36 " * ' x 1'/12" = 3 ' * ' = 3 in^2 = 3 square inches

1. Pecil will likely weigh closest to 1 gram. (Button will a fraction of a gram)

2. Assuming you mean troy ounce (not avoirdupois ounce)
- In order (lightest to heaviest): 200 g, 16 oz, 25 kg, 100 lb.
(200 g = 6.43 oz. 16 oz = 0.498 kg. 25 kg = 66.98 lb)

3. Closet volume = L*W*H = 3*3*9 = 81 cubic feet

4. Bench area = L*W = 3*1 = 3 square feet = 432 square inches
