T or F Chickens and humans are both bipedal because they both had a common mammal ancestor.

........Please help. I have this question on a practice test for my Bio-Anthropology class and I am so confused. Some websites are saying they are related, so are saying something about the genes being similar, but not the DNA, and some say there is a common ancestor similar to a rat... I'm confused.... can you help? Thee is nothing about this in our textbook.

So are they people in a way ? And should they get some kind of protection ? If so, how could you justify it only on the basis of similarity to humans - I mean why not extend the protection to for example worms ? Read the article below, which I have used for this information. Please, no one word answers.
